Glossary of Terms:
basic, commonly used
ADULT: fully developed, mature rabbit of breeding age
  ARCH:  gentle curvature of the spine, extends from the neck to the rear
  BALANCE:  type;  shape or conformation
  BLEMISH:  any defect or fault which detracts from the appearance
  BUCK:  an unaltered or intact male rabbit
  CONDITION:  the overall physical state of a rabbit's health, cleanliness, fur
  CULLING:  removal of undersirable rabbits from the herd
  DAM: the mother of a rabbit
  DEPTH:  measurement downward from the top line of the body to the lowest portion of the body
  DISQUALIFICATION: one or more defects, deformities  that render animal from competition or registration
  DOE:  unaltered or intact female rabbit
  FAULTS:  imperfections for a particular breed or variety
  HUTCH STAIN:  stain on the coat as a result of urine, manure or rust
  KINDLE/KINDLING:  process of giving birth to young rabbits
  KITLING/KIT:  a young or newly born rabbit
  LITTER:  group of kits born to a doe when she kindles
  MOLT:  act or process of shedding, changing of fur
  REGISTRATION:  official recording of a rabbit & it's pedigree that have been approved by a licensed registrar
  SIRE:  father of a rabbit
  STANDARD of PERFECTION:  book stating the characteristics for each recognized breed of rabbit as assembled by the American Rabbit                                                            Breeders Association
  WEANING:  separating the doe and the young so that the young no longer nurse
Glossary of Terms:
for color/markings & show
AGOUTI:  hair shaft that has three or more bands of color
  BASE COLOR:  color of the fur next to the skin
  BROKEN PATTERN:  any recognized rabbit breed color with white, in spotted or blanket pattern
  BUTTERFLY:  nose marking fround on many breeds and broken varieties
  CHARLIE:  extremely lightly marked animal in marked breeds or broken groups, commonly more white than actual color to pattern.
                     Less than 10% is not showable in Lops
  INTERMEDIATE:  rabbit classification for some breeds that are at least 6 months of age but under 8 months of age
  JUNIOR:  rabbit under  6 months of age
  SENIOR:  rabbit 6 months & older for the breeds having four showroom classes, rabbit 8 months and over of age for the breeds that have six                     showroom age classes
  SELF/SELF COLORED:  same color fur all over the body, head, legs & tail
  SHADED:  gradual transition of basic color usually from dark to light
  SHOW CLASSES:  divisions of rabbits by age and weight in a show
  SOLID:  rabbit with the same basic coloration over the entire body
  SPORT:  rabbit not true to the characteristic color of it's breed, also refered to as Vienna marked (associated with Blue Eyed White animals)
  TICKING:  distribution of longer guard hairs of a color distinct from the under color
  TRI COLOR:  a pattern of broken animal consisting of two seperate colors and white
WHAT IS YOUR RABBIT SAYING??
Growling:  short barking growl, occurs with aggression
Purring:  usually made by a buck that's ready to breed
Loud Piercing Scream:  great pain, like when caught or in an intense state of fear
Low Squealing:  soft noise, usually when they don't want to be touched
Vocal Sounds
Nudging with Muzzle:  desires attention
  Scratching Floor with Forepaws:  wants attention, instinct to burrow
  Licking/Caressing:  likes you, "social pelt care"
  Sitting up on Haunches:  getting a better view
  Flopped on Side/Back:   resting, contentment,  or feeling playful
  Pushing your Hand Away:  says had enough petting/attention
  Lying Flat on Stomach:  usually stretched out, resting, cooling themselves
  Rubbing with Chin:  marking territorial claim, scent glands ar under chin
  Third Eyelid: white/pinkish membrane in eye starts covering eye ball, showing extreme                                       contentment or relaxation
  Foot Thumping:  1) allerting others of potential danger, warning sign if startled  
                             2) sign of dominance when breeding, wanting to be bred
  Mounting Another:  an act associated with breeding of male and female, or the showing of                                           dominance over another
